The Desolate Watch was established in response to the increasing threats from the Scarlet Crusade, the encroaching forces of Gilneas, and the Alliance’s relentless pursuit of dominance in the region. The Watch’s primary mission was to reinforce the Forsaken’s presence in Silverpine and secure their borders against these formidable enemies.
Pyrewood Village, once a vibrant human settlement, had been left in ruins following the Cataclysm and the subsequent wars. The Desolate Watch was tasked with the monumental responsibility of rebuilding this town. Under the command of the High Executor, the Watch began the arduous process of restoring Pyrewood, aiming to transform it into a fortified and “lively” community reflective of Forsaken resilience.
The Watchers, under the direction of the Listener, undertook the critical task of safeguarding the inhabitants of Silverpine. This included constant vigilance against the Scarlet Crusade’s raids and the looming threat from Gilneas and the Alliance. Their efforts were pivotal in maintaining the security and well-being of the Forsaken people.
Aligned with the Desolate Council’s broader strategy, The Desolate Watch extended its operations beyond Pyrewood. They were deployed to the far reaches of Forsaken territory, tasked with reinforcing and reestablishing control over key settlements. Their duties encompassed not only rebuilding and repopulating these areas but also protecting them from external threats.
Over time, The Desolate Watch solidified its reputation as a cornerstone of Forsaken strength in Silverpine. Their unwavering commitment to the Forsaken cause and their relentless defense of their lands ensured that the Forsaken presence in Silverpine remains true. If there might is needed they rally the banners and call its militia to arms.
